Updating 2.X ThreadFix License
You will learn
How to update a ThreadFix License.
Prerequisites
Audience: IT Professional and/or End User
Difficulty: Advanced
Time needed: Approximately 5 minutes
Tools required: Tomcat, MySQL or MS SQL Server
If you need to simply update your license file but not upgrade your ThreadFix deployment, these are the steps for any version of ThreadFix on any environment.
Stop your Tomcat instance that is hosting ThreadFix.
Back up your existing license file: <threadfix-deploy>/WEB-INF/classes/threadfix.license
Example in Linux: /opt/tomcat/webapps/threadfix/WEB-INF/classes/threadfix.licenseCopy your new license file that was provided to you to that same location (the file name must be threadfix.license to be recognized).
In Linux environments, you may need to give the tomcat user/group permission to access the new license file.
Example: sudo chown -R tomcat:tomcat /opt/tomcat/webapps/threadfixStart your Tomcat instance that is hosting ThreadFix.
When ThreadFix finishes starting, your new license should be recognized. You can verify your license file has updated by visiting the System Settings within ThreadFix and looking up the License Information. More details can be found on the System Settings Page.
