Adding Versioning Applications

Users can configure ThreadFix to keep track of which version of an application is currently in testing. As a user releases new versions of an application, many vulnerabilities will have been eliminated, but new ones may have been introduced. Application Versioning can help keep track of changes in an application as they relate to the application's version.

1. To record the version number of an application at a certain date, first navigate to the Application menu on the Navigation sidebar and click on the Portfolio page.
   
   

2. Click on the team containing the application to be versioned. Select the desired application within the team and click on the Action button to reveal a drop-down list. From the Action button drop-down list select Manage Versions.

3. ThreadFix will display a modal dialog. You have not created any versions for this application yet so the list will initially be empty. Click the Create Version button.
   
   

    

4. ThreadFix creates another modal dialog, with fields for Name and Date. Provide this version a name, and click the Date field. This displays a date picker, select the date for the version and click the Submit Version button to close the dialog.
   
   

    

5. ThreadFix displays a success message and displays the name and date of your application version. Click the Close button, or click the Create Version button to repeat this process.
   
   

    

6. Now the Vulnerability Trending report on the application details page displays a bar with the date of the version. Mouse over the bar, and ThreadFix displays the version information.
   
   

    

7. From the same Versions menu the application version can be edited or deleted by clicking the Edit/Delete button to display the Edit Version pop-up. To delete the application version, click the Delete button from within the Edit Version pop-up.
