As we reach the end of September 2024, ThreadFix version 3.x on-premises has officially reached its End-of-Life. Therefore, there is no longer support or updates for this version of the product. We have fully transitioned our product and development teams to focus ThreadFix SaaS and migrating all customers over from the on-premises versions. Our Customer Success and Support teams are here to help you in migrating to ThreadFix SaaS and maximizing the value you see from this improved offering from Coalfire. This is the next phase of ThreadFix and our team is looking forward to continuing to support you on this journey.

📙 You will learn

How to add a target, create a scan, and export & upload XML files.

Prerequisites

Audience: IT Professional or End User
Difficulty: Basic
Time needed: Approximately 10 minutes
Tools required: If any

Scan a Target

  1. Click on the Targets page, found on the Navigation menu on the left then click on Create new Target.

  2. Enter a URL in the Address field and fill the Description field then click the Add Target button.

  3. Scan the target that was added above. Should it instead be the following?: From the Choose Scanning Options pop-up modal’s drop down lists, select the desired Scan Type, Report, and Schedule. Click the Create Scan button.

  4. Click the Scan Target button? Will need a screenshot for this screen here. Are there any further steps?

Export XML File

From the Scans page, found on the Navigation menu on the left, export an XML file by clicking on WAF Export and selecting XML from the drop-down list.

Upload XML File

What is the purpose of uploading an xml? Is it necessary to explain here?

Upload the XML file via the UI (refer to the Upload Scan section of the Getting Started with ThreadFix 3.0 page) or via REST API (refer to the Upload Scan - API page). Is this still accurate for 3.0? Is a 3x equivalent of the following screenshot from 2x appropriate? If so how can I find an updated screenshot?
